The world has fallen

Zombies surround the towns The world has fallen, and the only thing that drives them away is runners.

You join your real town The one you live in — there are more than 34,000 in France. Your kilometres and your steps turn into VO₂, the game's only resource: with it, your town raises its ramparts, its barracks, its training track… Nothing can be bought. Everything is run.

Sunday at 9 pm, the horde attacks If the FarRunners haven't run enough during the week, the walls give way and the Forge is looted. It's a team effort: nobody holds out alone, and when one runner stops, everyone has to rally.

Running at home defends your town. Running elsewhere pays. Every town you cross leaves you its object , all the finer the longer you ran there. Three objects from the same story make a relic — and relics decide the town rankings, well ahead of kilometres.

It works both ways Every kilometre an outsider runs in your town wakes zombies against it. What you go looking for elsewhere, someone else comes looking for here.

But the real plague isn't the horde. It's inactivity. 1.8 billion people don't move enough, and every idle day eats into our health and our years of life. So we created zombies to fight a very real enemy. 🧟

Your mission: run 5 km a day and aim for 10,000 steps. Your pace doesn't matter. What matters is moving.

A fortified town surrounded by a horde of zombies

The rules are simple

  1. Move

Walk and run to earn VO₂, the currency of RunRunFar.

  2. Defend your town

Spend your VO₂ to build and upgrade walls, farm, workshop, infirmary, barracks, watchtower…

  3. Explore

Run outside your town to bring back the object of every town you cross. Three objects from the same story make a relic , and relics rank the towns. But those kilometres don't defend yours.

  4. Draw the zombies

Every week the zombies close in on your town, and every kilometre an outside FarRunner runs there adds more.

  5. Survive Sunday

Sunday at 9 pm, the kilometres run by the residents face the week's zombies. A town that ran holds out. A neglected town pays the price.

  6. Protect your Forge

A town that falls has an object looted from its Forge. Go and run in the enemy town that took it to win it back.

Run for your town. Explore the others. Bring back what you need. And be ready when the Horde arrives.

So why zombies?

Because knowing isn't enough.

Everyone knows they should move. And 1.8 billion people don't. Information has never got anyone out of the door: public health campaigns have repeated the same figures for twenty years, and the inactivity curve keeps rising.

So we stopped explaining, and set a horde loose behind you.

The deal is simple: 5 km of running a day, at whatever pace you like, and 10,000 steps. Everything else — the zombies, the town, the Sunday assault — is just an excuse to get you outside.

The numbers that are truly scary

  • 31%

of adults worldwide don't move enough — 1.8 billion people. The share rose 5 points between 2010 and 2022, and the WHO expects 35% by 2030.

    WHO, 2024
  • 20 to 30%

higher risk of death for people who don't reach 150 minutes of moderate activity a week, compared with those who do.

    WHO, 2024
  • 1 in 5

In France, more than one adult in five spends over seven hours a day sitting. And 27% of men and 41% of women fall short of the guidelines.

Santé publique France, 2021 Health Barometer
  • $300 bn

in healthcare costs between 2020 and 2030 — about 27 billion a year — if inactivity stays at its current level.

    WHO, 2024

Not a single zombie in these numbers. That's exactly the problem.

All of this is a decoy. We never wanted to save an imaginary town: we want to get you outside.

The overrun towns

FarRunners have crossed them, nobody lives there: the zombies are at home. Running there brings back more loot.
