Terms of use

This is an English translation for convenience. In case of any difference, the French version of this page prevails.
RunRunFar is a game: your running kilometres and your steps become resources to build and defend your town. By creating an account, you accept the terms below.
1. The service
RunRunFar (the iPhone and Android apps, and the website www.runrunfar.com) is published by Mountain Duck Studio, a French SAS currently being registered (see the legal notice). In these terms, “we” and “the publisher” mean Mountain Duck Studio. The game is free.
Test version. RunRunFar is under development. Rules, balancing and features may change at any time. During the test phase, game data (resources, buildings, rankings) may occasionally be reset. The service is provided as is, with no guarantee of availability.
2. Who can sign up
You must be 15 or older. One account per person. The information you provide (first name, last name, email) must be accurate.
3. Your account
You are responsible for your password and for what is done with your account. Let us know at contact@runrunfar.com if you think someone else has used it.
You can delete your account at any time from the app (Profile → Account and privacy → Delete my account).
4. Username
Your username is public. It must not be insulting, discriminatory, sexual, impersonate another person or use a brand. We may change or refuse a username that breaks these rules.
5. Fair play
Every kilometre must have been covered by you, on foot. In particular, it is forbidden:
- to record runs on a bike, a scooter, in a car or in any other vehicle;
- to fake your location or import a track that is not yours;
- to use several accounts, a bot or a flaw in the game to gain an advantage.
Automatic checks refuse or flag suspicious runs. In case of cheating, we may cancel earnings, suspend or delete the account concerned.
6. Messages between players
The Messages tab lets you write in your town's chat room (read by all the runners of your town) and privately to another player. You are responsible for what you write. The following are forbidden:
- insults, harassment, threats, discriminatory or hateful remarks;
- sexual or violent content, and any content involving minors;
- advertising, spam, fraudulent links;
- sharing other people's personal information (address, phone…).
Every message can be reported, and every player can be blocked: you no longer see their messages and they can no longer write to you. A filter refuses the crudest words. A message reported by several players is hidden until the team reviews it. The team may delete a message, temporarily or permanently remove the right to write, or suspend an account.
7. Health and safety
You run at your own risk. RunRunFar is neither a medical tool nor a training programme.
- See a doctor before starting or stepping up physical activity, especially if you have a health problem.
- Stay aware of your surroundings: don't look at your phone while running, and follow the rules of the road.
- Exploring never justifies taking risks: do not enter private property or forbidden areas, avoid dangerous roads, running at night without visibility and extreme weather.
- Measured distances and positions may be inaccurate.
8. Intellectual property
The game, its rules, illustrations, texts and code belong to Mountain Duck Studio or to their authors. Your account gives you a personal, non-commercial and non-transferable right of use.
9. Liability
We do our best to keep RunRunFar working well, but we cannot guarantee it will always be available or free of errors. To the extent permitted by law, the publisher is not liable for damage related to sporting activity, an interruption of the service or the loss of game data.
10. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or delete an account that breaks these terms, if possible after warning you. You can stop using RunRunFar and delete your account whenever you wish.
11. Personal data
See the privacy policy.
12. Changes
These terms may evolve with the game. In case of a significant change, you will be notified in the app. Continuing to play after the change means you accept it.
13. Apple and Google
If you use the iPhone app, Apple's terms (App Store, TestFlight) also apply. Apple is not responsible for RunRunFar or its support. Likewise, the Android app installed from the Google Play Store is also subject to Google's terms, and Google is not responsible for RunRunFar.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. In case of dispute, write to us first: we will look for an amicable solution. Failing that, the French courts will have jurisdiction, subject to the protective rules you benefit from as a consumer, including those of your country of residence.
